Director's Audit Challenge

DSBN students are the true leaders of Environmental Sustainability in our system. On my regular school visits, I am very impressed with the enthusiasm, commitment and knowledge that students have for the Earth. From using GOOS paper, to implementing recycling programs, to conserving energy in significant ways, our students are teaching us about the importance of our environment every day.

You have all done such great jobs by implementing sound environmental practices at our schools; now, I feel it is time for students to teach us at the Education Centre. As part of our Earth Hour celebrations, I am pleased to sponsor an Eco Committee or Club from one of our schools to perform an Environmental Audit.

The winning team will be asked to use their skills, experience and keen eyes to look over the Education Centre with the goal of making our Board more environmentally friendly. Students will be asked to prepare a report with recommendations and present it to Education Centre staff for implementation.

Students will receive lunch, and of course, chocolate!

Please fill out the form below to submit your applications. Applications must be received by Wednesday, April 22 (Earth Day) at 4:30 p.m. The winning Eco Club will be announced by me at the Education Week Kick-off Breakfast on Tuesday, April 28.

Good luck!
