We at the District School Board of Niagara welcome a positive relationship with our media outlets and we need your co-operation when visiting one of our schools or events. The primary responsibility of the District School Board of Niagara is providing safe and nurturing learning environments for our more than 45,000 students. The Principal is the person in the school who is responsible for the students at that school.

Always call ahead and make an appointment to visit the school. This way you will ensure the people you want to see are available to see you.
Please check-in at the office if you are visiting during the instructional day. Many schools ask visitors to sign in and some will ask you to wear a visitor badge identifying you as someone who is welcome in their school.
If the educator has not indicated, ask which students may and may not have their image or name appear in the media. Some parents or guardians have requested that their child not appear in the media and we both must work together to respect their wishes.

Please remember that there may be times when the education and safety of our students will take precedence over our ability to assist with a story. We are simply doing our job as educators.
