PROJECT TURN AROUND

John Howard Society has confirmed a partnership with the DSBN toward the implementation of Project Turn Around this year for (4) ½ day, year long programs to provide students with social, emotional and healthy lifestyle focused education.

Locations for instruction are TBD on an individual student basis. Home School Teachers are determined by home school. A DSBN program to support students who are unable to attend school for a specified significant period for medical reasons supported by a medical certificate. All records and reports are the responsibility of the Home School.
For details refer to the Home Instruction Program Manual Revised Sept. 2009.

Please note…

It is expected that all DSBN Alternative Education Programs are accessed only when all possible interventions and strategies have
been applied at the home school without success and the In School Student Success Team (including Youth Counsellor and Special
Education staff when applicable) are in full support of the referral. Schools can depend on the assistance of the System Administrator
in determining the appropriate Alternative Education Program and or other acceptable alternatives when an Alternative program is at
capacity.
