Transition Planning

You are an important part of the Transition Planning process. While you and your family will have opportunity to ask questions in-person at transition meetings you are also invited to submit your questions through this website as well.

We will do our very best to answer your specific questions as they arise and email you directly. The answers to Frequently Asked Questions will be posted here.

We will also work with our Transition Team to keep you apprised of important information for your 2010/11 school year.

In Grades 8 to 11?

Students from Niagara-on-the-Lake who are currently in grade 8, 9, 10 or 11 may choose one of the following as their home school beginning in September 2010:

These students and their siblings will receive transportation to the school of their choice.

Students who live in the Niagara-on-the-Green subdivision in Niagara-on-the-Lake can choose to attend:

They and their siblings will receive transportation to these schools.

In Grade 7 or lower?

Students who are currently in grade 7 and are not siblings of students in grade 8, 9, 10 or 11 will follow the new boundary when it is established.

What will the new boundary be for Niagara-on-the-Lake?

The new boundary divides Niagara-on-the-Lake into north and south at Niagara Stone Rd. and Line 4. Students living north of this boundary will have Laura Secord Secondary School as their home school; students living south of this boundary will have A.N. Myer as their home school.

Students who require specialized programming due to academic needs, may be directed to alternate schools such as Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School (Extended French) or Kernahan Park Secondary School (Specialized School to Work).
