Aspen is a secure online portal used by DSBN families to register children for kindergarten and view other student information.
Register Your Child
Registration is quick and easy, and it’s best to complete on a computer. Once your Aspen account is set up, you can log in to register your child and submit the required information.
Submit Your Documents
Upload your documents in Aspen during registration, or share them with your home school before classes begin. This step helps confirm your child’s eligibility and ensures a smooth start to the school year.
We can't wait to welcome you in September!

DSBN Kindergarten Registration
A simple step today can make September feel that much smoother. If Kindergarten registration is still on your to-do list, you can complete it in just a few minutes.
Registering early helps your child’s school and educators prepare for their arrival. It gives staff time to plan, organize classrooms, and ensure the right supports are in place. We work with you to create a smooth and welcoming transition so your child feels ready and confident on their first day.
Other benefits to registering early are:
- Peace of mind knowing it is done and checked off your list. Waiting on supporting documents? You can still register now and submit them to your home school afterward.
- An earlier connection to your school community, with opportunities to attend open houses and stay informed about what to expect.
- More time for you and your child to get excited and feel prepared for the start of school.
Ready to get started?
Let's register for Kindergarten!
You can register your child even if you are still gathering documents. The following items will need to be submitted to your child's school to finalize enrollment:
Supporting Documents
- Proof of student age: birth certificate, passport details page, baptismal certificate, etc.
- Proof of address in Niagara: utility bills such as hydro, water or cable; a tax bill or a rental agreement (Note: a driver’s license is not considered proof of address).
- Family contact information: physical address, work and home phone numbers, email, etc.
- Emergency contact information: which you have consent to share with DSBN (addresses, phone numbers etc. for emergency contacts).
Immunization Requirements
The Ministry of Education requires that every student has a complete and up-to-date immunization record on file with their local health unit to attend school. Contact Niagara Region Public Health to check that your child’s immunization records are up-to-date.
