Each year, the Education, Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) administers standardized assessments in reading, writing and math for students in Grades 3 and 6. Grade 9 students complete a math assessment, while Grade 10 students write the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT), a graduation requirement that measures key literacy skills.
The District School Board of Niagara (DSBN) is pleased with its results on the 2025-26 EQAO assessments. DSBN students exceeded the provincial average in all eight assessed areas, with achievement levels ranging from five to 16 percentage points above provincial results.
“We are incredibly proud of the strong EQAO results achieved by our students, teachers and schools. This is a significant achievement and a testament to the collective efforts of educators, support staff, administrators and families who work together to support student success. At the same time, the data provides valuable insights into where further growth is possible. Even with these strong outcomes, our work continues.
