Dear DSBN Families:

Today, Doug Ford, the Premier of Ontario, announced that there will be a province-wide lockdown. Below are the specific details for what this means for your child’s learning:

Elementary Students:

  • Schools will be closed for in-person learning January 4-8, 2021, reopening for in-person learning on Monday, January 11, 2021
  • Starting Monday, January 4, your child’s teacher will email you regarding remote learning opportunities that will be available for your child
  • Schools will re-open with all COVID-19 safety protocols on Monday, January 11, 2021
  • If you need a device for your child, please contact your child’s school on January 4, 2021 and arrangements will be made at that time

Secondary Students:

  • All secondary students will now be learning online from January 4 – 22, 2021 for all courses
  • Teachers will provide learning materials online following your school’s January schedule
  • The first day back to in-person learning for secondary students will be Monday, January 25, 2021 according to your school’s schedule. All COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place
  • Your student’s school principal will follow-up with more detailed information regarding specialty programs

Your child’s school principal will be communicating more information with you next week. Thank you for working together with us to help keep everyone safe from COVID-19, and to protect our school communities.
