Athletics

We believe in creating opportunities where every student can participate, feel supported, and discover a lifelong love of staying active.

We recognize that for some students, school provides the first opportunity to participate in organized sport and competition. Here at DSBN, we want that first experience to be positive, fun, and welcoming for everyone. Our school sports programs are designed to build teamwork, school spirit, and meaningful social connection while helping students develop new skills and grow their confidence through inclusive, age-appropriate activities.

AN OVERVIEW

Elementary Athletics at DSBN

Badminton
  • Badminton Tournaments will run regionally between April 20 – 23, 2027
  • The District Badminton Tournament will be held at Brock University the week of May 3rd
Basketball
  • Intermediate Basketball to begin the week of January 12, 2027
  • District Basketball Tournaments to be held February 16- 24 at Brock University
  • Junior Basketball to begin the week of March 22, 2027
Cross Country
  • Group 1 will run on September 28 and October 5 at Fireman’s Park, Niagara Falls
  • Group 2 will run on September 22 and September 29 at Maple Park, Welland
  • Group 3 will run on September 28 and October 5 at Southward Park, Grimsby
  • Group 4 North will run on September 28 and October 5 at Burgoyne Woods, St. Catharines
  • Group 4 South will run on September 29 and October 6 at at Burgoyne Woods, St. Catharines
  • District Cross Country will run on October 14 at Fireman’s Park, Niagara Falls
Gymnastics
  • Gymnastics competitions will be held between March 23-25, 2027 at Gymnastics Energy Training
Soccer
  • Intermediate Soccer will run – October 1 – October 8, 2026
  • Junior Soccer will run September 22 – September 25, 2026

  • Intermediate Three Pitch Tournaments will run between May 14 – 31, 2027
  • Junior Three Pitch Tournaments will run between June 15 – 18, 2027
