Fort Erie Students Getting to Great

Being successful in school is one aspect of a healthy, well-balanced lifestyle. On Wednesday, November 20, Fort Erie Secondary School will host a series of free workshops that support students and parents incorporate all dimensions of health and wellness into their everyday lives.

The “Getting to Great” event will be held at Fort Erie Secondary School (FESS) and will feature sessions on mental health, good nutrition and academic success. “Each day, young people have to make many important decisions. These workshops will support students and their families in making positive choices to create true personal prosperity. This will be a fun evening that offers something for everyone,” said Helena Tritchew, FESS Principal.

Registration for the event can be made by visiting www.dsbn.org/gettingtogreat.

The event is free to attend and dinner will be provided, courtesy of FESS’ Pomegranate Restaurant. The Pomegranate is a student run initiative that began in 2008. Students from the school’s Specialist High Skills Majors program along with teacher Afshin Keyvani offer a fine dining experience every Wednesday evening during the school year. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 905-871-4610 ext. 254.
