Each year, the Education, Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) administers standardized assessments in reading, writing and math for students in Grades 3 and 6. Grade 9 students complete a math assessment and Grade 10 students write the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT), a graduation requirement that measures key literacy skills.
DSBN is pleased with our results on the EQAO assessments and proud of the hard work and engagement shown by our students. Their progress reflects the collaborative efforts of teachers, instructional coaches, consultants, and administrators across the system. Together, we remain committed to building on this success and continuing to improve student learning and achievement.

“We are incredibly proud of the strong EQAO results achieved by our students, teachers and schools. These successes reflect the dedication, collaboration, and hard work happening across our system every day. At the same time, the data highlights areas where further support is required. Even with strong outcomes, our work continues. Over the coming months, we will use insights gained to guide targeted supports so every student and every school has the differentiated resources they need to continue growing and achieving at their highest potential,” said Kelly Pisek, Director of Education.
