FIRST PUBLIC MEETING
PUBLIC MEETINGS FOR EDC BY-LAWS

TAKE NOTICE that on October 28, 2025, the District School Board of Niagara will hold public meetings pursuant to Section 257.63 of the Education Act. The purpose of the public meetings is to consider the imposition of education development charges in Niagara Region and the enactment of two education development charge by-laws. One such by-law will apply to the development of land in the former County of Lincoln and the second by-law will apply to the development of land in the former County of Welland (collectively the “By-laws”). Information will be presented at the meetings to inform the public generally about the Board’s education development charge proposal. The education development charge background study required under Section 257.61 of the Education Act (including the proposed By-laws) setting out the Board’s education development charge proposal will be available on or before October 14, 2025, at the Board’s administrative offices during regular office hours and on the Board’s website at www.dsbn.org.

TAKE NOTICE that on December 2, 2025, the District School Board of Niagara will hold a second public meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to consider the enactment of the By-laws.
Any person who attends the meetings may make representations to the Board in respect of this matter. Any person wishing to address the Board should comply with the Board’s requirements concerning delegations found here: https://www.dsbn.org/about/board-committee-meetings/board-meetings. The Board will also consider written submissions. All submissions received in writing and those expressed at the public meetings will be considered prior to the enactment of the By-laws.
The Board would appreciate receiving written submissions one week prior to the public meetings, so that they may be distributed to Trustees prior to the meetings. Submissions and requests to address the Board as a delegation should be submitted to:
