DSBN statement on ongoing violence in the Middle East

Oct 11, 2023
Our thoughts are with those students, staff, families and communities who have been deeply impacted by the current conflict in Israel-Palestine. We acknowledge that the war in Israel-Palestine may leave members of those communities feeling fearful, unsafe, and vulnerable.

The DSBN response to these events will be compassionate, understanding and supportive as the violence can have a profound impact on the students and staff we work alongside each day.

In DSBN, diversity is a source of strength, and we celebrate and appreciate the identities and lived experiences of all students and staff. The DSBN denounces all forms of hatred and violence and the devastation of lives and communities it leaves in its path.

In collaboration with the Mental Health & Well-Being team, schools have been provided with resources to support those who may be struggling during this difficult time.
