At the November 21, 2023 Organization Meeting, elections were held for the positions of Chair and Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees. Sue Barnett and Alex Bradnam were both re-elected.     

Sue Barnett, Trustee for Welland, was elected as Chair of the Board. This is her 14th year with the DSBN. “I am proud of the work and the standard that the DSBN continues to uphold here in the Niagara Region,” said Barnett. “When Trustees focus on their role and work as a team, great things happen for our students and staff. As the largest employer in the Niagara Region, our Board of Trustees can ensure opportunities are widespread and available to our students and staff. I believe our commitment to student success is what makes the DSBN a dynamic and forward-thinking Board.” 

Alex Bradnam, who is finishing his 10th year as Trustee for St. Catharines/Niagara-on-the-Lake, was elected as Vice-Chair. “I am honoured in the trust that this Board of Trustees has given me to serve as Vice-Chair,” said Bradnam. “The DSBN continues to be recognized as one of the best school boards in Ontario. I am proud to be able to serve as Vice-Chair for another year, maintaining the success and progress this Board has made in the past 18 years.” 

Chair Barnett and Vice-Chair Bradnam will serve the Board in their current roles through November 2024.
