In May of each school year, information will be shared at school on becoming a member of Student Senate for the following school year.
Students can return an Expression of Interest to the principal, who will review all applications received.
Two students will be selected to represent their school on the Senate.
Students may choose to serve for one year or return for a second year to continue the great work that Student Senate does.

DSBN Student Trustee Election

Every April, the Student Senate elects a new DSBN Student Trustee for a two-year term.
Information on becoming a candidate for the April Student Trustee election is shared in March each year.
Students interested in running for the position of Student Trustee submits an Expression of Interest to their school.
Each high school can nominate one student to run for election.
The candidates make a presentation to the Student Senate at the April Spring Retreat.
After the presentations, each Student Senate team votes for their preferred candidate.
