Equity Policies
The Equity and Inclusive Education Policy, the Human Rights Policy, and the Ontario Human Rights Code are all important policies and legislation that guide our work in equity and inclusive education. These guidelines help us to create safe, welcoming, and respectful learning environments where every student’s identity, background, and beliefs are valued. They also ensure that discrimination is not tolerated and that all students have equitable access to opportunities and supports to help them succeed.
The Ontario Human Rights Code is a law that protects people from discrimination and harassment in areas like education, employment, housing, and services. It ensures that everyone is treated with dignity and respect, no matter their race, religion, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, or other personal characteristics. In schools, the Code helps us make sure that all students and families feel safe, included, and supported, and that their rights are respected.
G-03 Equity and Inclusive Education

Its purpose is to remove systemic barriers, promote equitable opportunities, and embed inclusion in teaching, curriculum, and operations. The policy emphasizes fostering belonging, addressing bias, and creating accountability to advance equity across the board.
E-09 Human Rights
The Human Rights Policy ensures equitable, inclusive, and accessible learning and working environments free from discrimination, harassment, and systemic barriers. It acknowledges historical and ongoing inequities faced by marginalized groups and commits to eliminating these through anti-oppressive and anti-racist practices. Grounded in the Ontario Human Rights Code and other legal frameworks, the policy promotes respect, dignity, and fairness for all, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration where every individual can thrive.
